Hi everyone, my name is Mike. I'll be moving to Ningbo in a few weeks from Minnesota, USA. Some of you might have known Jody from Minnesota as well, I am actually working with her now and will be coming to Ningbo to take over her position. She recommended me to go on to this site so I can start meeting some new friends. Like when Jody first started, I have no idea what to expect in Ningbo. It's a little scary, but exciting at the same time. I am 24, graduated from college in the US a few years ago. Originally I was born in Hong Kong though, so I do know Cantonese and a little bit of Mandarain, but a little rusty in both. I am looking forward in meeting many of you when I get there. In the meantime, I wanted to introduce myself and again, I look forward in coming to Ningbo very soon. Nice to meet you all.
-Mike

Welcome to Ningbo Mike. Lots of friendly people here, not need to fear. If you make it here before the end of the month, join us at TianYi Starbucks on Saturday 28 April at 6PM for our monthly ningboguide meeting.

Hi Betty, Esteban, thank you for the kind notes. I actually don't know for sure where my apartment is located at in Ningbo. All I know is that it is close to the Sheraton Hotel & the airport since I'll be doing a good amount of traveling for my job. I'll definitely try to make it by April 28th if it is possible, otherwise, I'll let you guys know when I get there and we can catch up then. Thank you and I look forward in meeting all the new people in Ningbo:)

Welcome, Mike! Practising Mandarin will not be a problem in Ningbo, but Cantonese is very seldom used in this part of China. I am yearning to speak more Cantonese too - it's my mother tongue.
Think of it, Cantonese is the most popular language in Chinatowns all over the world, shouldn't we start a Cantonese Corner in Ningbo? LOL!
